Beers to bring home for the holidays

Leading packaging design for the "Three Wise Men" holiday beer release.

Background:
Mare Island Brewing Co. was launching a new holiday offering for its beer club members. I directed the label and packaging design, collaborating with the co-founders, multiple outside vendors, and a graphic designer to make this special beer release look as good as it tastes.

"Three Wise Men"
The "Three Wise Men" is an exclusive holiday release for Mare Island Brewing Co.'s beer club members. Featuring a trio of small batch, barrel-aged beers, the concept and packaging are inspired by three legendary figures in Mare Island history.

Working closely with the brewery Co-founders, I lead the creative development and deliverables for the packaging to bring the concept to life.
Directing the label design
I worked closely with the the graphic designer to develop the creative deliverables, keeping three main goals in-mind:  the labels should reflect the "premiumness" of the beer inside, lean into the "Three Wise Men" concept by highlighting each of the historical figures, and aesthetically reference the holidays without straying too far from the brands core identity
Creating the Box
We wanted the box present the beers in an elegant way, while also allowing them to ship safely. With a basic concept in-mind, I sourced a packaging vendor who could produce what we were looking for, working closely with them to develop a custom box and foam inserts that would both protect the beers, and present them in a unique way.
