The inspiration
Mare Island Brewing Co.'s "Workshop Series" is a vehicle for experimentation, and each beer in the series is inspired by new ideas the brewers have been carefully "workshopping" on Mare
To highlight the craftsmanship behind each beer in the series, while also referencing the history behind the brand, I built the identity for the series around the various shops that once served Mare Island Naval Shipyard.

What makes Mare Island Brewing Co.'s beers standout on shelves is its restrained, minimalist approach to label design. I wanted to brand the series in a way that would would stay true to the core aesthetic of the brand, while also giving the series its own immediately recognizable identity.
